The inspiration for this crown comes from the red king's crown from the traditional Moreška sword dance which has been performed for over 400 years. The dance tells the story of the White King (dressed in red and representing good) and the Black King (representing bad), along with their respective armies battling over the White King's fiancée Bula, who was kidnapped by the Black King.
